As part of a multi-year celebration of our nation’s 250th Anniversary, America250PA and the Pennsylvania Masons are planting a Liberty Tree in each county across the Commonwealth. Liberty Trees were gathering places for the Sons of Liberty throughout all 13 colonies. From their meetings and discussions, the seeds of the American Revolution were planted. We welcome you to join us!
There will be a wreath-laying ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknown Revolutionary War Soldier, followed by comments from our Bro. Larry A. Derr, R.W.G.M and Robert D. Brink, R.W.D.G.M. about the Liberty Tree. We have heard on good authority that Bro. George Washington, P.M. will be riding a white horse from Christ Church to Washington Square to oversee the ceremony, accompanied by a sizable regiment of Revolutionary War officers. The Pennsylvania Masons will move to the tree for the final dedication, before Bro. George Washington takes his leave with the Continental Army to go fight the British in Boston.
Masonic dress for the tree plantings: Officers should wear a tux with regalia; members should wear a coat and tie or a lodge polo shirt with nice slacks.
