On Sat., 16-Mar-2024, members of Lodge No. 2, Mitchell Lodge No. 81 and St. Alban’s Lodge No. 529 were invited to attend a conferral of the Master Mason degree to a candidate applying for membership in Tuscan-Morning Star Lodge No. 48 of the Most Worshipful Prince Hall Grand Lodge of Pennsylvania. Also, in attendance were Prince Hall Grand Lodge delegations from Pennsylvania, New York, Maryland, and Washington, D.C.

On Fri., 15-Mar-2024, members of Lodge No. 2 were invited to participate in a Masonic Wreathing Laying Ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier at Arlington National Cemetery in Washington, D.C. Representing Lodge No. 2 at the ceremony were Peter B. Lavelle, P.M., Ariel Gonzalez, P.M., Seth Lavelle and O. Steven Schneider, Jr. Also, in attendance were Bros. During our February Stated Meeting, all present were given a card with 5 names on it to maintain contact with those brethren. The vision is to have everyone in Lodge No. 2 involved to strengthen our Fraternal Bond. Lodge No. 2 to Help Gift of Life Howie's House

Continuing in its mission to partner with local nonprofits in the city of Philadelphia, Lodge No. 2 will be serving meals at the Gift of Life Howie’s House, which serves as a “home away from home” for transplant patients and their families by providing temporary, affordable lodging, meals and supportive services to those who travel to Philadelphia for transplant-related care. Every evening, the staff at the House host volunteers from the community to prepare meals for patients currently staying on premise, in a manner reminiscent of the Philadelphia Ronald McDonald House.

Holiday cheer arrived early this year when members of Lodge No. 2 participated in LuLu Shriners’ FEZtival of Trees & Lights, where 49 Masonic Lodges and Shrines from Philadelphia and the surrounding counties decorated Christmas trees to showcase their support for LuLu Shrine and the local Shriners Hospital for Children.

I can say this was one of the most memorable experiences in my life and I am humbled by being able to experience it. This past year we have had some very memorable Stated Meetings and events. On November 7th, we will be having a Masonic wedding at the Temple. Kim and I will be renewing our vows. We plan to start at 6:15 p.m. We will have the Masonic wedding ceremony upstairs in the lodge room. After the ceremony the guests will go downstairs and enjoy some music (a duo named The Side Chicks) and appetizers. During this time, the brethren will have a short meeting. After the meeting the men will join everyone else and have a nice dinner.
