Join members of Lodge No. 2 as we mourn the loss of one of our own—Bro. John J. Gigliotti, P.M.—who joined the Great Architect of the Universe on Fri., 11-Sep-2026. Affectionately known as “Gig” to friends and family, Bro. John J. Gigliotti, P.M. was a pillar of the community whose contributions to Freemasonry in general, and Masonic District D in particular left an enduring legacy during his 50+ year tenure in the fraternity. After proudly serving in the U.S. Army, “Gig” lead a 40-year career as a conductor on the Reading Railroad and, later, Consolidated Rail Company (Conrail). Following his retirement from Conrail, he spent the next 35 years working as a Safety Coordinator on the Wildwood boardwalk, operating and maintaining the tram cars that shuttled beachgoers up and down the coastline. A beloved boardwalk fixture best known for his charm, infectious laugh and "watch the tram car, please” PSA, “Gig” was recognized in 2025 for his many years of service by officially being named an icon by the city of Wildwood.
During and after his time as a Lodge officer, “Gig” demonstrated exceptional proficiency in Masonic ritual and is attributed with the conferral of well over 100 Master Mason degrees. Now it is our turn to pay tribute to a man, father, brother, son, teacher and friend that exemplified the very best that the fraternity has to offer.
