Worshipful Master's Message - November 2021

Each month, the Worshipful Master provides an update on current events in relation to Freemasonry in general and Lodge No. 2 in particular. Please see below for for this month’s message from the Worshipful Master of Lodge No. 2.

Dear Brethren,

It’s hard to believe that Thanksgiving is right around the corner – this year has been yet another COVID-induced whirlwind. But fortunately, we are in a far better place than we were at this time last year. Thanks to the vaccine, all of us will hopefully be able to enjoy Thanksgiving in person once again – definitely better than last year’s virtual holidays. Although these are still difficult times, we have a great deal to be thankful for this year. I know that I am thankful for the continued trust you have all placed in me as Worshipful Master of this Lodge, and I am honored to carry on our 263 years of tradition.

Our degree rituals are a cornerstone of our ancient and honorable Fraternity. We have all traveled the same road as many good and worthy fellows that came before us. As many of us know, our Ancient rituals are unique among virtually all Masonic jurisdictions, and have been practiced in the exact same way since time immemorial. Usually, we confer degrees at our extra meetings, but our next degree will be the first that this Lodge has bestowed in well over a year and a half. Accordingly, we will celebrate this special occasion at our stated meeting, where Bro. John Descano, P.M., will be conferring the Entered Apprentice Mason’s degree upon George Richards.

See you in Egyptian Hall!

Sincerely and fraternally,

Paul R. Cleveland

Worshipful Master
