Worshipful Master's Message - April 2022

Each month, the Worshipful Master provides an update on current events in relation to Freemasonry in general and Lodge No. 2 in particular. Please see below for for this month’s message from the Worshipful Master of Lodge No. 2.

Dear Brethren,

The Master Builder Award, in the words of Grand Lodge, is a mark of distinction to “recognize newly made Masons who have worked diligently to engage in the activities of their Lodge, their District and the Fraternity as a whole.” We already have one Master Builder in this Lodge – Bro. Pierre Simonvil, our Senior Warden. Bro. Seth Lavelle, who was raised to the sublime degree of a Master Mason in January of this year, is also on the path to becoming a Master Builder. One of the requirements of this award is to give a program at a stated meeting of one’s lodge. Accordingly, Bro. Seth Lavelle will be giving a presentation at our stated meeting this month!

Lodge No. 2 has a long history of philanthropic service to the greater Philadelphia community. The pandemic unfortunately brought our in-person outreach efforts to a halt. But now, with pandemic restrictions lifting, it is time to put ourselves back out there and re-engage in our charitable work. Therefore, at our stated meeting this month, I want to discuss how the Lodge can resume the regular philanthropic programs that we have been doing for years. On top of that, this new start is an excellent opportunity to expand our philanthropic programs. I call upon you, the brethren of this Lodge, for ideas about any other opportunities for Lodge No. 2 to do good unto all!

Sincerely and fraternally,

Paul R. Cleveland
