Worshipful Master's Message - September 2022

Each month, the Worshipful Master provides an update on current events in relation to Freemasonry in general and Lodge No. 2 in particular. Please see below for for this month’s message from the Worshipful Master of Lodge No. 2.

Dear Brethren,

I hope you had a good summer! It’s been an extra hot one this year, so please remember to stay hydrated and sunscreened if you’re spending a lot of time outside. I can’t imagine what it must have been like for our Brethren who met in the years before air conditioning – I can understand why they would call off from labor for July and August! On top of that, the world these days seems just as heated and tumultuous as the weather. In these often intense times, remember that we as Freemasons have a duty and obligation to “do good unto all.”

It’s a long-standing tradition in Freemasonry to occasionally l et one of the Wardens of the Lodge run a stated meeting. This procedure is to help the Warden get some practice for their future in the East, and to allow other officers to gain some on-the-job familiarity with positions that they may be holding in the future. For our September meeting, we will be holding a Senior Warden’s Night, where Brother Pierre Simonvil will be taking my place in the East. I have every confidence that Brother Pierre will run an excellent meeting!

Sincerely and fraternally,

Paul R. Cleveland
