Worshipful Master's Message - June 2024

Each month, the Worshipful Master provides an update on current events in relation to Freemasonry in general and Lodge No. 2 in particular. Please see below for this month’s message from the Worshipful Master of Lodge No. 2.

Brethren,

I wish you all well as we approach the middle of 2024 on the cusp of the summer season. To the brethren and their families that have celebrated (or have yet to celebrate) their Masonic birthdays thus far, I hereby thank you for your continued support of the fraternity.

As a reminder, our June meeting will begin promptly at 6:00 p.m. with dinner to follow at 7:30 pm. Seeing as we’ve already reached maximum capacity for our dinner reservation at Fogo de Chao Brazilian Steakhouse, only ticketed individuals that have pre-paid will be seated in the banquet room. All alcoholic drinks will be the responsibility of the membership and all drink orders must be placed at the bar. Walk-ins will be responsible for their own meals and will be seated with the general public. Also there is a change to Lodge dues as a vote was made and passed to increase our annual dues to $100.00 to match the Grand Lodge assessment increase. This is still a great value, as attending just two Extra Meetings pays for itself.

In case you missed it, Egyptian Hall was jam-packed with visitors from Lithuania, St. Alban’s Lodge No. 35, Tuscan-Morningstar Lodge No. 48, William Penn-Harmony Lodge No. 52, Mitchell Lodge No. 81, Composite Lodge No. 121. We also had the pleasure of welcoming Bro. James T. Clancy, D.D.G.M. of Masonic District D that evening. Our special guest for the evening—Bro. Benjamin Franklin, P.M., looked great for being over 300 years old. We also had the privilege of learning the practices inculcated in Lithuanian and Spanish Freemasonry, courtesy of our Lithuanian brothers and Bro. Jonathan Teysko, respectively.

Keep an eye out for the upcoming events cited on the Lodge No. 2 website as well as on the weekly e-newsletter, as we have much more in store later on this year. Lastly, thank you to all of you who support us behind-the-scenes as well as to those who are ready to step in to strengthen our line of officers for the years to come.

All the best,

Peter B. Lavelle, P.M.
