Continuing in its mission to partner with local nonprofits in the city of Philadelphia, Lodge No. 2 will be serving meals at the Gift of Life Howie’s House, which serves as a “home away from home” for transplant patients and their families by providing temporary, affordable lodging, meals and supportive services to those who travel to Philadelphia for transplant-related care. Every evening, the staff at the House host volunteers from the community to prepare meals for patients currently staying on premise, in a manner reminiscent of the Philadelphia Ronald McDonald House.

Loving brother of Ashley Shisler of Mantua and Tyler Shisler of Deptford. Cherished grandson of Marion Shisler of Depford, Robert A. Join us in celebrating the 265th Anniversary of Lodge No. 2 on Sat., 17-Jun-2023, at the LuLu Shrine in Plymouth Meeting, PA. Dinner will include a choice of filet mignon, grilled salmon or stuffed chicken prosciutto and will be accompanied with hors' d’oeuvres, a 10-piece band, live entertainment and an open bar. I hope everyone is having a great April. Our April 5th meeting was simply amazing. The featured speaker was Emily Hoffman, a patient at Shriners Hospital. She spoke about her amazing journey through our Shriners hospital system. Her parents also came and spoke to the lodge. Her mother wrote a book for children about her daughter and her journey to better health. Both of them were inspirational speakers.

He was brought to us by the Esther Raab Holocaust Museum and Goodwin Educational Center. Dr. Jonathan spoke about his mother who was a concentration camp survivor. The talk was very informative.

Lodge No. 2 to Volunteer at Grace Cafe

Lodge No. 2 will be partnering with Grace Cafe at the Arch Street United Methodist Church to serve home-cooked meals to some of Philadelphia’s most vulnerable residents on Sun., 30-Apr-2023 from 3:00-6:30 p.m. Grace Cafe is a faith-based organization whose mission is to provide food and fellowship to the city’s less fortunate. Volunteers will be asked to greet visitors, serve dishes, bus tables, assemble “to-go” meals and provide a memorable experience to our guests.

On Tues., 07-Mar-2023, Lodge No. 2 welcomed Dr. Jonathan R. Anolik from the Jewish Community Relations Council (JCRC) of Southern New Jersey who recounted the life and times of his mother, Erna Roth Anolik—a Holocaust survivor.
