8th Annual Guest Chefs Charity Cook-off

Members of Lodge No. 2 are invited to to participate in the lodge’s marquee philanthropic endeavor by preparing a meal at the Philadelphia Ronald McDonald House at their Chestnut St. campus. Join us as we support the families of seriously ill children by preparing an evening meal to serve as a welcome relief for patients and their families returning from a long and often exhausting day at the hospital. Volunteers will be divided into teams and assigned various dishes to prepare on-site using the House’s state-of-the-art kitchen appliances and ingredients. Volunteers will be feeding approximately 180 people that evening and are asked to report to their shift promptly at 3:00 p.m. for a brief orientation, followed by a tour of the newly constructed facilities. Dinner will be prepared from 4:00 - 6:00 p.m., with meals being served at 7:00 p.m. and clean-up expected to wrap up by 8:00 p.m. This year’s menu will consist of baked ham, roast chicken, smoky collards, slow-cooked green beans, stewed black eyed peas, cheddar grits and raisin walnut rice pudding.
