Lodge No. 2 Wins 3rd Place at FEZtival of Trees

Holiday cheer arrived early this year when members of Lodge No. 2 participated in LuLu Shriners’ FEZtival of Trees of Lights with Santa, where 49 Masonic Lodges and Shrines from Philadelphia and the surrounding counties decorated Christmas trees to showcase their support for LuLu Shrine and the local Shriners Hospital for Children. The FEZtival of Trees & Lights with Santa is the premier fundraising event for the LuLu Shrine. Lodges pooled their resources to donate and decorate a pre-lit Christmas tree with ornaments associated with a theme of their choosing. Guests from around the area were then invited into the Shrine Center to tour and rate the winter wonderland of decorated flora as they snacked on seasonal treats, shopped at the holiday marketplace, enjoyed brunch with Santa and participated in various children’s activities. 

Representing Lodge No. 2 were Bro. John S. Descano, P.M. and his wife, as well as Bro. Adam Twersky and Bro. Peter B. Lavelle, P.M., who opted to decorate their tree with the theme of Joy this holiday season. When the voting was done and the results tallied, Lodge No. 2’s entry won 3rd place with a total of 111 points. The top entries and their entries’ associated point values are listed below:

1st: 182 pts. = Shekians Lodge

2nd: 126 pts. = Hackenburg Mt. Moriah Lodge No. 19

3rd: 111 pts. = Lodge No. 2

4th: 106 pts. = Shekinah-Fernwood Lodge No. 246

5th: 58 pts. = Charity Lodge No. 190

6th: 49 pts. = Norristown Lodge No. 620

7th: 33 pts. = Community Lodge No. 744

8th: 31 pts. = Richmond-Solomon’s Lodge No. 3
