Worshipful Master's Message - September 2025
/Each month, the Worshipful Master provides an update on current events in relation to Freemasonry in general and Lodge No. 2 in particular. Please see below for this month’s message from the Worshipful Master of Lodge No. 2.
Brethren,
Hopefully everyone enjoyed their summer as we called off from labor for the months of July and August.
First and foremost: Bro. Muraldy Gustave, and soon-to-be Bro. Justin A. Rodriguez will soon depart for my alma mater, Fort Benning, to serve our country in active duty service in the United States Army. All the best to them…and beware of that Georgia red clay.
A few notes and reminders: Masonic due decorum is expected when we are conducting business in the body of an open Lodge. If you need to consistently view your phone or engage in side conversations, then kindly retire from the Lodge. Please be mindful to exercise proper etiquette when addressing the East and inform the Worshipful Master of all proposed Lodge activities to ensure that harmony and good order are maintained. From the day I took office, the policy is and has been to maintain transparency amongst all as this is our Lodge.
Per the edict from the Grand Lodge of Pennsylvania, annual dues are to be paid on or before Sat., 27-Dec-2025 at 12:00 p.m. Those brethren who have not paid their dues by the deadline will be subject to immediate suspension from the Lodge. Our membership in the world’s oldest fraternity affords us benefits that far and away exceed the cost of our annual dues—which include, but are not limited to—complimentary parking, meals and social events throughout the year. These rights and privileges, as well as ongoing Lodge policies, will be explained at our September Stated Meeting, entitled “Year-in -Review.”Lastly, although our Stated Meeting dinners will continue to be held at Maggiano’s Little Italy, we will be holding our Extra Meeting dinners at Iron Hill Brewery & Restaurant moving forward.
Thank you all for everything that you do.All the best,
Peter B. Lavelle, P.M.
