Worshipful Master's Message - December 2025

Each month, the Worshipful Master provides an update on current events in relation to Freemasonry in general and Lodge No. 2 in particular. Please see below for this month’s message from the Worshipful Master of Lodge No. 2.

Brethren,

First and foremost, thank you to all the officers who have served our Lodge, and to the brethren who are stepping up to carry the mantle as Lodge No. 2 moves forward into the future. It has been—and continues to be—a pleasure working with each and every one of you.

As I write this, the sun has yet to rise above the horizon, and I find myself filled with excitement as I think about our Lodge’s future and our role in celebrating our Nation’s 250th Birthday. Fair warning, Brethren: we will be busy! There will be much to do—both within our Lodge and throughout our community.

On November 7th, Junior Warden-Elect Bro. Michael J. Vivas and I volunteered to assist with tours at The Masonic Temple in Philadelphia for the Tun Tavern Initiative, alongside brethren from several other Lodges. Our conversations there—including those with Right Worshipful Grand Master-Elect Bro. Robert Brink, R.W.D.G.M.—made it clear that Lodge No. 2 is in an excellent position to serve as a beacon of involvement, presence, and continued growth.

Looking ahead, I am pleased to announce the formation of a newly appointed committee for Lodge No. 2—the Community Outreach Committee. This committee will consist of Bros. Ariel Gonzalez, P.M., Nathan Hill, Julian Skodzinski, and Donkey Dover. They will oversee our community involvement efforts, including partnerships with Gift of Life Howie’s House, Philly House, Philabundance, Tree Philly, and possibly even the development of a Lodge No. 2 Community Garden within the city. I encourage everyone to learn more about these worthy causes.

Whichever holiday you celebrate this season, may it bring you and your loved ones joy, peace, and wonderful memories.
