Worshipful Master's Message - January 2026

Each month, the Worshipful Master provides an update on current events in relation to Freemasonry in general and Lodge No. 2 in particular. Please see below for this month’s message from the Worshipful Master of Lodge No. 2.

Brethren,

Welcome to the New Year! In case you missed it, the newly elected officers have been installed, and we all look forward to serving you in this Masonic year. Bros. Michael J. Vivas and O. Steven Schneider, Jr. did an excellent job with their obligations, and I know they will continue to do great work as the torch is passed into their care.

Recognition is in order. First and foremost, Bro. Michael J. Vivas received the Master Mason of the Year Award for 2025. Bro. Barry Epstein, P.M., received a plaque for his dedication to Lodge No. 2. Lastly, a special presentation was made to our newly raised Master Mason, Bro. Dennis Zavala, which had been delayed from November due to time constraints. I am certain his uncle, Bro. Luis Arroyo, appreciates the gesture… yes, Lou, he is in good hands.

Opportunities to participate are filling quickly, and Lodge No. 2 is in a strong position with active involvement from our membership. If you have not been out in a while, I encourage you to stop in and see the positive changes and progress we have worked hard to build in order to keep our Lodge active and strong.

This year, the Worshipful Master’s gift is truly a keeper, and when you come to Lodge to receive your gift, you will also be met with the additional “Bag of Wonders.”

See you soon, and all the best.

Fraternally,

Peter B. Lavelle, P.M.
