Worshipful Master's Message - June 2026

Each month, the Worshipful Master provides an update on current events in relation to Freemasonry in general and Lodge No. 2 in particular. Please see below for this month’s message from the Worshipful Master of Lodge No. 2.

Brethren,

It is with profound pride and humility that I greet you as we mark an extraordinary milestone: the 268th Anniversary of our beloved Lodge. For nearly three centuries, our Lodge has stood as a beacon of Freemasonry, built on the dedication of the brothers who preceded us and sustained by the devotion of our members today. As we celebrate our rich history, we also honor the pillars who have guided our way. With deep gratitude, I must announce that our esteemed Chaplain, Brother David R. Thomas, will be stepping down from his station as Chaplain.

For years, Bro. David R. Thomas has been the spiritual heart of our Lodge. His wisdom, compassion, and steady counsel have comforted and inspired us through seasons of both grief and celebration. While he is stepping down from this formal role, his impact on our brotherhood is permanent. On behalf of the entire Lodge, I extend our deepest thanks to him for his exemplary service and unwavering dedication.

Brethren, let us honor our past and look toward the future with the same zeal that has sustained us for 268 years. I look forward to seeing you at our next Stated Meeting in Carpenters’ Hall—the official birthplace of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and the meeting place of the First Continental Congress—as we celebrate this anniversary and America's Semiquincentennial along with our Right Worshipful Grand Master, Bro. Robert D. Brink.

All the best.

Peter B. Lavelle, P.M.
