Worshipful Master's Message - November 2026
/Each month, the Worshipful Master provides an update on current events in relation to Freemasonry in general and Lodge No. 2 in particular. Please see below for this month’s message from the Worshipful Master of Lodge No. 2.
Brethren,
Our October Stated Meeting was a tremendous success, and I want to thank everyone who came out and contributed to such a great evening. We had the privilege of presenting a brother with his 50-Year Masonic Service Emblem, recognizing a lifetime of dedication to our fraternity. We also welcomed Bro. Christopher L. Hodapp, author of “Freemasons for Dummies”, for an outstanding program that brought together our members and visiting brethren for an evening of Masonic education and fellowship.
October was also personally meaningful as I fulfilled a promise I made in May 2025 to attend Bro. David Canterbury’s Pathfinder School. That experience challenged me physically and mentally while reinforcing the importance of perseverance, accountability, teamwork, and keeping one's word. These lessons extend well beyond the outdoors and serve as reminders of the principles we should practice as Masons every day.
As we look ahead to November, we will welcome a representative from Big Brothers Big Sisters Independence to discuss their mentorship programs and the difference they make in the lives of young people. Mentorship is an important opportunity to put our Masonic values into action by sharing our experience, guiding others, and investing in the future of our community.
Brethren, let us continue building on the momentum we have established through participation, education, fellowship, and service. A strong Lodge is built when each of us takes an active role in its success and recognizes the value we can bring to others.
As I have often said, “attitude reflects leadership.” Let us continue leading by example and making Lodge No. 2 a place where our brethren and our community can see those principles in action.
I look forward to seeing everyone at our November meeting.
All the best.
Peter B. Lavelle, P.M.
