Lodge No. 2 Partners with Habitat for Humanity

On Tuesday, January 29, 2019, members of Lodge No. 2 donned their hard hats and working tools in partnership with Habitat for Humanity of Camden County to help renovate a home that had been occupied by widow of a Brother Mason for the past six decades. A single-family brick home located on a quiet, tree-lined street, the building’s infrastructure had largely remained untouched for over 40 years before being donated to Habitat for Humanity as a project home. Once renovations are complete the home will be designated with the express purpose of providing housing to local veterans in the Greater Philadelphia area. Our team convened to demolish, gut and replace the electrical fixtures in and around the home which would later be outfitted with replacement parts. Endeavors like these are a testament to a truth outlined in our Masonic creed; namely, “that when Freemasons engage in any just or laudable undertaking they go hand in hand with unanimity and success generally crowns their efforts.”
