Holiday cheer arrived early this year when members of Lodge No. 2 participated in LuLu Shriners’ FEZtival of Trees & Lights, where 49 Masonic Lodges and Shrines from Philadelphia and the surrounding counties decorated Christmas trees to showcase their support for LuLu Shrine and the local Shriners Hospital for Children.

Read MoreOn November 7th, we will be having a Masonic wedding at the Temple. Kim and I will be renewing our vows. We plan to start at 6:15 p.m. We will have the Masonic wedding ceremony upstairs in the lodge room. After the ceremony the guests will go downstairs and enjoy some music (a duo named The Side Chicks) and appetizers. During this time, the brethren will have a short meeting. After the meeting the men will join everyone else and have a nice dinner.

Every evening, the staff at the House host volunteers from the community to prepare meals for patients currently staying on premise, in a manner reminiscent of the Philadelphia Ronald McDonald House.

We will be having a quick meeting and then we will be travelling next door to join Lodge No. 52 as they celebrate their anniversary. I hope to see everyone there.

Read MoreI hope everyone is having a great April. Our April 5th meeting was simply amazing. The featured speaker was Emily Hoffman, a patient at Shriners Hospital. She spoke about her amazing journey through our Shriners hospital system. Her parents also came and spoke to the lodge. Her mother wrote a book for children about her daughter and her journey to better health. Both of them were inspirational speakers.

Read MoreIf you haven’t been to our Lodge meetings this year you have been missing a lot. Our February meeting featured a talk from a Holocaust survivor’s son. Dr. Jonathan Anoclk. He was brought to us by the Esther Raab Holocaust Museum and Goodwin Educational Center. Dr. Jonathan spoke about his mother who was a concentration camp survivor. The talk was very informative.
