Constituted in 1758, Lodge No. 2 was one of the first chapters of Free & Accepted Masons in the original 13 colonies and traces its origins prior to the American Revolution. For over 260 years, the fraternal order of Pennsylvania Freemasons has been proud to include some of the nation's most influential, inspirational and truly remarkable leaders amongst its ranks. Lodge No. 2 holds its stated meetings at the Philadelphia Masonic Temple in Center City at 7:00 p.m. on the first Tuesday of each month except during the months of July and August. Extra meetings are held at the Philadelphia Masonic Temple at 7:00 p.m. on the second Tuesday of each month as necessary, except in case of emergency, of which the membership shall have due and timely notice. Ritual rehearsals are held at Front Street Cafe at 11:00 a.m. on the last Saturday of each month and are intended for Lodge Officers and brethren entitled to advancement who seek to learn Masonic ritual. The Philadelphia Masonic Temple
Lodge No. 2 meets on the first Tuesday of every month (except in July and August) at the Philadelphia Masonic Temple directly across from City Hall. Constructed in 1873, the Masonic Temple is considered one of the great architectural wonders of the Masonic world and currently serves as the headquarters for the Grand Lodge of Pennsylvania. Adorned with some of the finest artifacts of Freemasonry and magnificent lodge rooms modeled after the greatest civilizations of the ancient world, the Masonic Temple serves as a physical manifestation of the values and traditions enshrined in the fraternity.
