They say hospitality is a dish best served from the heart and never is that more true than during the Home Cook Heroes Charity Cook-Off sponsored by Lodge No. 2 of Masonic District D. A cornerstone of the fraternity’s pledge to promote community outreach, this charity drive is one example of how Freemasonry, fraternity and fellowship can be used as a force for good that leaves a lasting impression on the local community.
Read MoreIt is amazing how fast the year has gone by so far. We are just about halfway and the fellowship that has already been enjoyed by all. Recently, I was reminded that life is a twinkling of an eye and to enjoy every moment that we have breath. The remainder of the year is packed full with more activities for all of us to build tight fraternal bonds and create memories for all of us to share. Also, in attendance were Prince Hall Grand Lodge delegations from Pennsylvania, New York, Maryland, and Washington, D.C.

Several of the Lodge’s in District D, to include Lodge No. 2, have been working together to provide combined activities with all our members…and it is working very well. There is no need to have to venture far to find something to do for fellowship and building fraternal ties.

The vision is to have everyone in Lodge No. 2 involved to strengthen our Fraternal Bond. There is much happening with Lodge No. 2 in the month of March, from seminars, to community service, as well as traveling to Washington, D.C. to lay a wreath at Arlington National Cemetery at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier on March 15th.
Read MoreContinuing in its mission to partner with local nonprofits in the city of Philadelphia, Lodge No. 2 will be serving meals at the Gift of Life Howie’s House, which serves as a “home away from home” for transplant patients and their families by providing temporary, affordable lodging, meals and supportive services to those who travel to Philadelphia for transplant-related care. Every evening, the staff at the House host volunteers from the community to prepare meals for patients currently staying on premise, in a manner reminiscent of the Philadelphia Ronald McDonald House.
